Project Name
The Prayer Book of Cardinal Albrecht of Brandenburg Interactive
Project Description
Developed in conjunction with the exhibition “Imagining Christ”, an interactive presents eleven openings (pairs of folios/pages) from the Getty Museum’s Prayer Book of Cardinal Albrecht of Brandenburg. The imagery portrayed on the facing folios represents related scenes (typologies) from the Old and New Testaments; Medieval and Renaissance Christians considered the actions of individuals from the Old Testament to both parallel events from Christ’s life and to foreshadow the coming of Christ. Users may quickly explore high resolution imagery of the openings, while the presentation of the images and their analysis makes their inherent relationship readily apparent. The interactive was developed using Adobe Flash 9 and compiled to run as a stand-alone application on Mac OS X and Windows XP, and deployed in-gallery in exhibition on a touch screen kiosk, and on www.getty.edu. All media assets were encoded to operate within the interactive environment. Kiosk hardware: Vendor/Model: AOpen Digital Engine DE945, Operating System: Windows XP Pro, Processor: Intel Celeron M 430 (Yonah) FSB533 1.73GHz, Memory: DDR2 667 SODIMM 1GB, Hard Disk: 2.5" Samsung SATA 5400rpm 80GB, CD/DVD Drive: Panasonic Slotloading CD-RW/DVD Combo, Touch Screen: 10.4" TFT LCD Monitor, 800 x 600 pixels.
