Project Name
iPhone and iPod Touch Gallery Tour
Project Description
Since September of 2007 the San Jose Museum of Art has actively been prototyping an ongoing gallery experience/tour that will utilize the iPod Touch and/or an iPhone for its implementation. The effort will make updates to the device simple due to the fact that it will use the Safari Mobile Web Browser accessing a web page on the SJMA web host over the museum wifi network. Currently the museum uses the video iPod which proves difficult for updates because each unit must be updated. The iPod Touch/iPhone allows for more options of features, interactivity and accessibility.
The SJMA will be introducing the new tour in conjunction with it's exhibition Robots: Evolution of a Cultural Icon on view from April 12 - October 19, 2008.
